Hikeloop Inflatable Sleeping Pad: QUICK OVERVIEW
What We Like
What We Don't Like
Spending the night outdoors requires you to invest in some type of sleeping bed. You could go the traditional route and choose to purchase a sleeping bag, but they’re often bulky, uncomfortable, and leave you feeling sore the next day. Taking an air mattress is another option, but the downside is that you’ll need a way to fill it up, enough space to pack it, and a place to put it on your campgrounds.
Well, what if we told you that you could have the best features of each of these products? An inflatable sleeping pad looks similar to a sleeping bag, but it inflates just like an air mattress, and we are here today to review one model that might just meet your needs.
Hikeloop Inflatable Sleeping Pad Review
The Hike Loop Inflatable Sleeping Pad is designed to give you the best of both worlds. Built with hikers and campers in mind, it’s designed to have a comfy and cushiony base but rolls up to take up less space. This is almost essential when you’re planning a trip where you will have to carry all of your gear.
Having a sleeping pad that cannot only roll up but can also be deflated can end up saving you space and eliminate some of the extra weight that a padded bed would give you. It also provides you with extra cushioning when you’re using it so that you won’t wake up sore the next day.
Who Is This Product For?
This product is designed to be used by anyone, which means it’s perfect for adults, kids, and even seniors. You can use it when you’re at home, out overnight at an event, or for other outdoor activities. As long as you need sleeping gear that doesn't take up much space and is super lightweight, then this product is for you.
When you purchase the Hike Loop Inflatable Sleeping Pad, you will receive a sleeping pad, two loops, and a convenient carrying case. The loops help secure the bed when it’s not in use, and the bag can prevent it from getting dirt, water, or dust particles.
Overview of Features
The total weight of the whole unit is 2.7 pounds, and the sleeping pad itself is designed to be compact and ultra lightweight. When you roll this pad up, you will instantly see that it can be packed down to a smaller size of 13.7”x7.8”x7.8 inches. That’s insanely smaller than other types of sleeping bags you’d see on the market.
The material inside the sleeping pad is made of polyurethane, open-cell foam, which can be packed down and also expands on its own. Meaning you won’t have to worry about pumping it up or blowing air into it.
The sleeping pad comes in a grey and dark blue style. The outside material is made from waterproof materials which help keep it clean and dry. Since the material is also abrasion resistant, the sleeping pad can be protected from getting frayed or ripped.
How to Use
To use the sleeping pad, you first need to take it out of the sack and unroll it. Always make sure that you are placing it on a flat surface that is free from any debris.
After that, keep the valve open and inflate it by blowing into it. The pad can self-inflate, but we do recommend that you push some extra air into it. Adjust the softness of the bed, according to your wants and needs, by either blowing more air into it or releasing some air, making sure you don't over-inflate it.
Once you’re done using it, you can deflate the pad by opening the valve and squeezing all the air out. You will then need to roll it upwards towards the valve and close it once it’s rolled up. Make sure to close the valves before you put it back into the sack or else the pad will start to inflate while you’re carrying it.
While we know that the Hike Loop Sleeping Pad is excellent for most people, it may be too bulky for some. If you’re looking for the most basic type of sleeping pad for trekking or hiking, then we can suggest an alternative product called the Outdoorsmanlab Sleeping Pad.
It’s also self-inflating, but it’s made from diamond cut foam. It has superior support for your upper body and is slimmer in design than the Hikeloop. It can be rolled up in a pack, and the whole pad is only two pounds. This makes it ideal for those who need an even smaller bed.
No matter what type of trip you’re going to, having a lightweight and self-inflatable sleeping pad is always a plus. The Hike Loop Inflatable Sleeping Pad is designed to be waterproof, take up less space, but still provide your body with support and comfort. You’ll never have to sleep on a dull and stiff surface again with this sleeping pad.
Since it's lightweight, it literally won’t break your back when you’re hiking. Even if you’re going on a day trip, having this self-inflating pad can keep you comfortable day and night.
